For the 2nd year in a row, Cuckoo Events / Safe Events has come away from the International Festivals & Events Association annual awards with 3 prizes.

The 3 prizes comprised 2 x GOLDs and 1 x SILVER award.

Safe Events was awarded a GOLD in the 'Best Emergency Preparedness & Risk Management Plan for an Event' category for the Dublin Marathon 2016 event.

With only 2 x GOLDs being awarded this year in this category, Safe Events are delighted with the win.

Commenting on the award, Safe Events Director, Mark Breen, said

'We're delighted with the 3 wins, of course, but are particularly pleased to win the award for our risk and emergency work on the Dublin Marathon last year. As Crowd & Event Safety specialists, we spend a lot of time establishing and managing risk and preparing for a wide range of scenarios on all our events. It's time-consuming, hard work and is rarely recognised by anyone beyond the clients for whom we do it. We take what we do seriously, and see our work as being key to, in this case, 20,000 people getting to run the Dublin Marathon, without having to consider their own safety. We've been working with the volunteer team behind the Dublin Marathon for a number of years now and enjoy the work we do for them. Being able to contribute in certain areas of such a prestigious event that has been built over many years is very rewarding for us.'

The Safe Events website also received a GOLD award in the 'Best Organisational Website' category. Having only launched in February 2017, the website has been extremely well received and has proven to be a powerful tool in winning work for the Safe Events Team.

With Cuckoo Events / Safe Events continuing to employ email marketing to great effect, they received a SILVER award in the 'Best Event / Organisation E-Newsletter' to add to the GOLD award they received in the same category in 2016.

The Team looks forward to receiving the physical awards so they can be displayed along with the others in the office.
