We're active members of IIRSM as well as in the international #crowdsafety community. We're delighted that Mark in here will be co-chairing two upcoming conferences with IIRSM.

Roger Barrett from Star Events will be co-chairing alongside Mark. Roger is one of the foremost temporary structure specialists in the world and has been involved in some of the most challenging temporary infrastructure projects on the planet.

Both Mark and Roger will be delivering sessions on the day too.

Mark will kick the day off with a session entitled 'Real Risks V Topical Threats' while Roger will deliver an afternoon session designed to equip 'regular' #eventsafety professionals with the knowledge to quickly assess the overall safety of a temporary structure.

Mark will also deliver a Case Study session utilising the Wild Lights @ Dublin Zoo events. The challenges in planning and managing for almost 200,000 people to enjoy these events in an operational zoo will be explored and Mark will lay out the steps the Safe Events Team took to address them.

Other confirmed speakers include:

  • Dr. John Drury
  • Prof. Keith Still
  • Andy Neal from Cardinus Event Management

John Drury will present on 'The Group Psychology of Mass Emergencies - and How to Manage it.', while Keith will deliver on 'Real-time evaluation of crowd dynamics.  Crowd counting, management and control / movement of people.' Andy will be tackling terrorism / violence at events and will explore how to recognise hostile behaviour and will explore mitigation techniques.

More speakers are yet to be confirmed too.

You can get all the details and book your place here on the IIRSM website.
