Having won a competitive public tender competition to be the Event Management Services Supplier for Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in 2018, we worked for almost a year to welcome over 500,000 people to Drogheda for the world's largest celebration of Irish culture and music.
An estimated 30% of those visitors came from overseas to visit Drogheda to take in the Fleadh, which included international competitors across a range of categories.
FleadhTV was broadcasting throughout the event with an unprecedented amount of live content this year. There were some amazing performances across the programme from artists including Hot House Flowers, Damien Dempsey, Stockton's Wing, Donal Lunny, Moya Brennan and many more.
The competition element is the true core activity of the Fleadh and the talent on display this year was tremendous. We have very little input into the competition element, as the Fleadh volunteers know that inside out. We help out and facilitate where we can.
We loved working on this event.
Drogheda has also been successful in securing the Fleadh for 2019 and we wish them luck with it!
The Fleadh is an absolutely unique event, with its own challenges. With competitions at its core, it also features concert events, live broadcasts & pop-up, on-street performances all around the host town.
We worked with Louth County Council, the Fleadh Executive Committee and a wide range of local stakeholders for almost one year to deliver the largest Fleadh ever, with over 500,000 people enjoying the programme of events in Drogheda.
VIEWA record-breaking 500,000+ people attended the Fleadh events across almost two weeks, enjoying a multitude of competitions, concert events, pop-up performances and more throughout the streets and venues of Drogheda.

Elaine led this project for us and pretty much worked full-time on it from once we'd won the tender for it.
She hit the ground running and established strong working relationships with all the key stakeholders, understanding fully that cooperation and understanding between all underpin the successful delivery of large-scale events like the Fleadh. This is particularly the case when working on an established event moving to a new location.
We established an in-house project Team, from which the key staff members on the ground would be drawn, and engaged with a range of potential suppliers from early on, to ensure we could assemble the best overall delivery Team for the event.

We worked with a very large extended team on the Fleadh and credit for what was the biggest and most successful Fleadh ever is due to all the volunteers and committee members more so than it is to us.
The Fleadh has life breathed into it by volunteers from all around Ireland throughout the year. We and the other event professionals that worked alongside them were in awe of their dedication and love of all things Irish culture.
We worked hard on this one and it took up a whole lot more time than we thought it would but it was all worth it when we saw hundreds of thousands of people immersed in Irish music and loving every second of it.
On behalf of the Cathaoirleach and Members of the Fleadh Executive Committee I write to thank you and your team for your work and support in the delivery of Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann.
The Committee are delighted with how the overall celebration of Irish culture was delivered and we have received very positive comment in regard to the management of this year's event.
Our thanks also to your cub-contractors who supported the delivery.
To your own team, sincere thanks to all for their work and professionalism throughout the week.
