We worked with long-time client the National Dairy Council on their inaugural HealthFest event in 2016. From concept to delivery, we worked on the planning and safety elements as well as devising and coordinating the programming.
The event involved 4,000 secondary school students from all around Ireland arriving to CityWest for a day to learn more abot healthy eating & lifestyle.
This was the first time the NDC had run an event like this and, as such represented a significant investment in time, resources and budget and it needed to work.
We had 4,000 students arrive to CityWest for a one-day event. With the vast majority arriving on coaches, the Transport Management planning was critical. Coaches needed to get in and get out as necessary, safely & without causing mayhem on the N7.
We planned & managed this event for 4,000 secondary school students, which saw the vast majority arrive on coaches. The Transport & Traffic Management elements were key to the success of the event and it all ran smoothly and as designed.VIEW
The event was a great success for the NDC. It fulfilled a major KPI, allowing them to directly communicate with 4,000 young people in a fun & non-preachy way. We work with them on multiple projects so are acutely aware of their business objectives.VIEW

Internally we had to plan the programming in such a way that we could accommodate the 4,000 students, performers, attractions etc. while also allowing circulation space and food areas etc.
Externally, the parking and management of approximately 60 large buses was critical to the smooth operation of the event. The last experience the teachers and students had with the event was getting on their bus and setting off on the journey home. It needed to be well managed and efficient.
We designed the entire event, both internally and externally, to meet the client objectives and to address the inherent challenges from a safety perspective.

As the inaugural event, the work was very much front-loaded but the model is there now and it is now a fixture in the annual events calendar for the NDC.
Feedback from the teachers and students that attended was extremely positive, with all indicating they'd likely attend the event again. In fact, the event was over-subscribed in its 2nd year, exactly as it was in the first year.
The atmosphere on the day was fantastic and we all enjoyed working on the event. We enjoy working with Zoe, Lynda and Tara in the NDC on all their events, in fairness. Being able to help take this one from concept through to completion though was particularly enjoyable.
Plus, putting the programme together as well as looking after the planning and safety elements was an endorsement of the expertise we have here in-house.
Cuckoo / Safe Events achieved a difficult balance, ensuring that the health & safety of all attendees was a priority, while providing a fun-filled, informative day out for the students with lots of engaging activities.
The event was a great success, in no small part thanks to the Cuckoo / Safe Events Team and particularly Elaine. The continuous communication in the run up to the event was invaluable and they were always on hand to help with any last minute queries or requests.
